An organization helping families who have difficulties accessing education resources.

Description

NASA has formed a charity for helping families who have difficulties accessing education resources. The targets can be either children or adults who need to continue education, but they are limited by distance, income, and mobility. NASA will gladly share the accessible resources for those struggling
to reach a better future.

Mission Focus
NASA Charity for Education Accessibility reinforces our
mission of making knowledge accessible by providing
a solution for families encountering difficulty in accessing educational resources.

Differentiators
No one should be left alone in society, and NASA believes learning science in an accessible way can help people connect and be ready for a better future. NASA reaches out to these families and helps them secure a better future by using our connections and resources.

Similar to:
National Partnership for Educational Access (NPEA),
National Center on Accessible Educational

Materials (AEM)

Differentiating Elements
Based on the situation and difficulties such as income, distance, or capability, NASA will connect these families with our accessible educational resources. NASA also provides an opportunity that helps them stay connected with society because NASA believes understanding science can change a life and family.

A mini-library on wheels that carries the knowledge of science further distances and reaches closer to the community.

Description

A mobile library providing extra leisure and knowledge in the parks and public places. The mobile library can reach a place or a community that needs learning about science. Besides, it enhances the experience in other museums by providing extra reading in public spaces and helps information circulate
within the mobile library network.

Mission Focus
NASA Mobile Library reinforces our mission of providing
a better experience for understanding science by allowing library books to circulate more for the public

to access.

Differentiators
NASA makes accessing knowledge about science easier and closer to daily life. More than carrying books, NASA has curated topic cycles throughout many places to engage visitors, and NASA always encourages the audience to go outside and meet new friends who are interested in science.

Differentiating Elements

More than a vehicle with physical books, NASA can host internet access to its educational resources and digital collections. The mobile library brings knowledge in physical form and provides the gateway to the digital library, which is crucial for distant places when communication and commuting are
not convenient.

A comfortable place for reading for both adults can children.

A science-themed bookstore that welcomes the visitor to stay all day with reading, small events, and services.

Description

A comfortable place for the reader to relax and find something new to read. The bookstore can also hold NASA Book Clubs and services within the store to enhance the experience. The experience that NASA wishes to share with the visitor is a daily life enriched by science, in which people explore together and stay connected by having similar interests.

Mission Focus
NASA Bookstore reinforces our mission of providing a better experience for understanding science by creating a welcoming environment that keeps the visitor curious about science.

Differentiators
The bookstore doesn’t sell books but experience. NASA Bookstore is a place to explore knowledge that introduces the visitors to a lineup of science-related books and literature. Besides, the bookstore provides a large open space for reading and study, because NASA believes science is for everyone, which is more
valuable than hastening the visitor to buy a book.

Similar to:
Alley Cat Books, City Lights Books

Differentiating Elements:
A bookstore can be a pleasant place to stay by hosting a book club and offering services that make the visitor feel more like they are exploring science. For example, a short experimental class about colors when introducing the chemistry related to intensity and designs. Also, the bookstore can have a product and dining services related to the sciences to keep visitors curious.

A cross-discipline learning institute allowing the audience to gain new knowledge across different industries and fields of study. NASA Academy is accessible in both physical and virtual ways, which encourages people to exchange ideas.

Description

NASA Academy is a combination of academics and life. This institute focuses on higher education audiences dedicated to gaining insights from other fields of study. NASA will organize keynote speakers from different areas and share their wisdom with the audiences. NASA understands that building a brighter future requires an integration of knowledge, and NASA Academy enables the audiences to access insights from different fields.

Mission Focus
NASA Academy reinforces our mission of  understanding science through mutual inspiration by providing an opportunity for the audiences who wish to learn more about another field of study.

Differentiators
Unlike tech conferences and academic conferences dedicated to a specific field of study in a detailed way that is not suitable for cross-learning, NASA Academy provides an educational opportunity for the audience to learn parallel with other fields of study more easily because knowledge from another field increases the chance to gain more insights.

Similar to:
Lynda, Oracle OpenWorld

Differentiating Elements
Access to knowledge is not only an advantage to stand out, but also a community-forming place allowing the exchange ideas to stay inspired.

S1 | NASA Science Book Club

A welcoming book club sharing thoughts about sciences and helping explore more in books.

Description

Reading books is a basic form of learning, but NASA makes
it more engaging by inviting the author and experts to study together. NASA believes a book club provides an experience that is positive, informative, and insightful. Studying together and meeting friends with similar interests is beneficial for sharing thoughts.

Mission Focus
The NASA Science Book Club reinforces our mission of making knowledge accessible and providing a better experience by creating a welcoming community that connects science-lovers.

Differentiators
The NASA Science Book Club is an inclusive community with an expert within sharing thoughts in depth with general participants. Each meet up has a different topic and points of view because it creates an environment for the audience to come up with new ideas and use critical thinking. Those new to science are always welcome because knowledge is open to everyone.

Similar to:

Goodreads, City of Lights Booksellers & Publishers

Differentiating Elements
The NASA Science Book Club occasionally has a special guest from a different field of study. The difference of this book club is the curated topic, and with the help of the host and members, everyone gains insights and has a better experience.

N2 | Community Libraries

Community libraries for study and exchanging thoughts. The libraries allow the public to access educational resources and visual archives with ease.

Descriptio

A place relatively smaller than a city library but powerful
for accessing scientific and technological knowledge
in a community. These libraries are for the visitor who wants a better understanding about science, and the
visitor can further access information for conducting research within the community nearby instead of visiting
a university library.

Mission Focus
The NASA Community Libraries reinforces our mission of making knowledge accessible to the public by providing a network of libraries throughout communities.

Differentiators
NASA Community Libraries are focused on scientific resources and inclusive public spaces. A community
library does not need to be big and gorgeous, but
instead, the accessibility of a large database and archive
is a competitive feature. Any user can enjoy the latest knowledge and vast archive to conduct research.

Similar to:
SFO Aviation Museum and Library,
San Francisco Public Library

Differentiating Elements
Different from large and historical libraries, NASA Community Libraries rely on communication technology
to form an accessible network of knowledge. Besides,
NASA improves the experience of searching and accessing academic resources. The organized and curated
collection allows users to navigate easily and facilitates academic research.

E1 | Remote Classrooms

A real-time science class through the internet, which connects everyone interested in science.

Description

Different from the classroom and school, there is no pressure and assignments to do. Also, it is not a virtual space with a paid pre-recorded video. NASA’s remote classroom has scheduled topics, demos, and in-class discussions for audiences. The class is accessible through the internet and does not require expensive equipment.

Mission Focus
The NASA Remote Classrooms reinforce our mission of understanding science through education by providing an accessible virtual space for learning science.

Differentiators
What makes NASA Remote Classrooms different is its freedom and accessibility. The audience can make their own choices and schedule to attend class. The remote classroom encourages classmates to meet some new friends with a common interest.

Similar to: Brilliant, Khan Academy

Differentiating Elements
Unlike other online university and education websites, NASA Remote Classrooms enable the audience to interact with real instructors and classmates instead of pre-recorded content. Furthermore, the classroom encourages setting up a connection with classmates so they can inspire each other.
